At the age of 15 Patrick learned to dive in the Cayman Islands. Ever since he has been fascinated by observing underwater life in its natural habitat. Five years later in 2001 he followed his calling and trained to become a Diving Instructor. From then on the unique reefs of the Red Sea became is second home.
Mesmerized by the sheer beauty of tropical coral reefs Patrick wanted to understand this ecosystem in depth. He graduated in 2010 with a Master’s degree in Behavioural Ecology at the University of Vienna, Austria. Since then he has done behavioural research with Primates and with several fish species in the laboratory as well as in the field. Patrick has also worked for nine years in the education department of the Zoo Vienna and carries a great general knowledge on the animal kingdom.
